- Facing Your Fears
- Membership. Being a member of Toastmasters International involves more than just showing up at meetings and giving a speech now and then. Toastmasters membership is about being part of a supportive group of individuals in your local area who share the common goal of improving their communication and leadership skills. From meeting roles and mentoring to speech contests and satellite programs, Toastmasters International offers a host of ways for members to progress and thrive.
- Educational Program. The educational program is the heart of every Toastmasters club. It provides members with a proven curriculum that develops communication and leadership skills one step at a time, with many opportunities for awards and recognition along the way. The communication and leadership tracks are not mutually exclusive; you may participate in both at the same time, if you wish.
- Meeting Roles. The success of a Toastmasters meeting depends on the program participants. There are many roles to fill, and each job is designed to improve the members’ public speaking and leadership skills. Program participants must know and understand their duties so they can prepare for them. Some roles can be combined – for example, the Ah-Counter might also be the grammarian or listen for uses of the word of the day.

- Learn by doing. A Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure atmosphere. There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another’s presentations. This feedback process is a key part of the program’s success.
